  • If you do not belong to a discounted group, you pay the adult price.

    • Children below the age of 6 travel free.
    • Children from the age of 6 up to and including the age of 17 may travel with a children's ticket.
    • The price for single tickets stated here, includes a 20 % Reis-discount when purchasing tickets in the Ruter app or on a travelcard.
    • Period tickets with a children's fare must be activated the day before you turn 18.

    Note that you must prove that you are entitled to a discount if asked by staff. If you don't have valid proof, you may be fined if there is a ticket inspection.

    Group discount

    The group discount applies on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. You may bring up to four children below the age of 18 for free. 

    To use the group discount you must have a valid adult, student, military, senior or youth ticket, and be over 18 years.

  • The senior discount applies to:

    • Everyone aged 67 or above
    • The blind
    • People with a concessionary card for disability pension issued by NAV (EEA-citizens may also apply for a card from NAV)
    • Spouses/registered partners travelling together with the person entitled to a senior discount

    Note that you must prove that you are entitled to a discount if asked by staff. If you don't have valid proof, you may be fined if there is a ticket inspection.

The 24-hour ticket is not available with student or youth discount.

How to buy a ticket

How the ticket works

  • The 24-hour ticket is valid for 24 hours from activation.
  • You may transfer to other means of transport (free transfer) in those zones for which the ticket applies, as long as the ticket remains valid when you get onboard.
  • The ticket may be used on Ruter's buses, trams, metro lines and ferries, and on Vy's trains in Oslo and Akershus.
  • None of our tickets are personal, so that you can travel anonymously without providing personal data to Ruter.
  • You may have the 24-hour ticket in the Ruter app or on a travelcard.
