1. Plan your journey in advance
Check travel alternatives in the journey planner on ruter.no or in the Ruter app.
2. Consider other stops or lines
Check if there are other stops or bus and tram lines that take you in the same direction.
3. Walk or cycle if you can – for all or part of the way
It may be faster and more flexible, especially during heavy traffic.
4. Allow extra time
There may be queues and waiting times when many people travel simultaneously.
5. Ask us for help
Customer advisers from Ruter are present at the most affected stops. We are here to help and answer questions.
6. Look for information at stops
There are posters and screens at the stops that can help you. Marked arrows show the way to buses replacing lines 2 and 3 at Borgen station.
7. Are you bicycling?
See updated bicycle maps from Oslo Municipality. Are you travelling from the west? Bærum Municipality offers both bicycle workshops at several locations along the metro line and loans of electric bicycles.
8. Avoid rush hour on lines 2 and 3
If you travel on lines 2 and 3 between Østerås/Kolsås and Majorstuen, consider whether you can avoid travelling during rush hour if possible.
9. Use Ruter's interactive map to keep track
The map shows how and when the metro lines will be affected by the upgrade.
