It is free to travel with skis, sledges and other baggage on Ruter's services.

How to travel with baggage

  • The driver determines whether there is sufficient space, taking safety into account.
  • Our staff may charge for oversized baggage, maximum adult fare.
  • Skis, toboggans, sledges and other baggage must be held or placed such that they do not inconvenience other passengers.

Travelling on ferry routes B1 or B2?

  • Safety and passengers always have the highest priority.
  • Allowed cargo on board is primarily goods/items that can be carried on board in one trip.
  • Heavier items (maximum width/depth 90 cm and height 100 cm) on trolleys can be transported before 9 a.m., depending on the number of passengers, safety, and space.
  • A maximum of two trolleys is allowed on board, and these must be placed as directed by the crew.
  • Dangerous goods, including fuel, propane, and other flammable liquids and gases, are not permitted on board.

Illegal to bring on board

  • Flammable and explosive substances
  • Motor operated bicycles/tools
  • Loaded weapons
  • Sharp/odorous objects
  • Other objects that clearly are bothersome to other passengers
