Bicycle free of charge on the Metro outside rush hours

From Saturday 1 March it is easier for cyclists to travel on public transport. You can take your bicycle on the Metro free of charge outside the rush hour.

Free of charge only outside the rush hour

You can take your bicycle on the Metro free of charge during all of Saturday and Sunday, and on Mondays to Fridays outside the rush hour. The rush hour windows are on Mondays to Fridays from 07:00 to 09:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00.

Whether or not you pay for your bicycle depends on the time you enter the Metro or a control zone (by passing the barriers). You will have to pay a child fare for your bicycle if you travel during the rush hour.

Limited space

Please be aware that we only have limited space for bicycles on board. For this reason, we reserve the right to carry bicycles only if there is enough space. If there isn't enough space, you will have to wait for the next service.

Show consideration

  • Please walk your bicycle when in the station area.
  • Brush off as much mud and dirt as you can before you get on board.
  • Once on board, do not let your bicycle obstruct other passengers, and keep hold of it throughout your journey. We recommend that you use the doors at the ends of the carriages. There is more space here.
