Accessibility statement: Moovit White Label app

In Ruter's pilot project with shared, autonomous vehicles in Groruddalen, a "white label" app provided by Moovit is used. A "white label" app is an app developed by another company, which is rebranded to appear as a Ruter app. As a result, Ruter has limited opportunities to make its own adjustments to the functionality of the app and is more reliant on adaptations that Moovit has already implemented.

This accessibility statement describes the measures taken to make the app accessible to people with disabilities and how it complies with the requirements of the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standard for universal design.

  • The most important adjustments are as follows (applicable to both iOS and Android):
  • The app is optimized for use with VoiceOver and TalkBack technologies (including screenreading) on both iOS and Android. This is particularly aimed at people with visualimpairments/blindness, as well as people with reading and learning difficulties.
  • The app's user interface is adapted for individuals with motor disabilities.
  • The app supports the phone's accessibility features such as enlarged text and zoom.

Ruter's vision is to create sustainable freedom of movement for all—regardless of disabilities or other conditions. This means that a future, large-scale booking service with autonomous vehicles should also be adapted for all user groups.

An important part of the pilot project is therefore to user-test and learn what works and what doesn't for users with various disabilities, and what additional adaptations need to be made to the service, including the app and digital interfaces, to function well for all users. This provides unique insights and learning for Ruter, which we will use in the development of our own digital platforms.
