Ethical guidelines
These ethical guidelines apply to all employees of Ruter As, board members, and contracted consultants. The ethical guidelines also apply to wholly-owned subsidiaries. We refer to all as Ruter's employees.
Responsibility
Employees are obligated to familiarize themselves with to laws, regulations, and internal procedures that apply to their own area of work and to Ruter in general. This includes an independent responsibility to understand and follow ethical guidelines, and to not comply with orders that are illegal or result in breaches of these ethical guidelines. Cases of doubt should be clarified with Ruter's management. Violations of the ethical guidelines may have consequences for the employment relationship.
Leaders have a special responsibility as cultural bearers and role models, and must contribute to building an organizational culture that upholds Ruter's vision, values, and ethical guidelines. Leaders at all levels should review the ethical guidelines with new hires and at least once a year with their employees.
Human rights and decent working conditions
Routes should follow the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (available only in English), and promote respect for, and compliance with, fundamental human rights and international conventions on decent work conditions.
Due diligence assessments
Through legal requirements, expectations, and demands from our owners, we commit to actively work with due diligence assessments as part of our business practice. Due diligence assessments are a risk-based approach intended to ensure respect for human rights, labor rights, society, and the environment in our own operations and in the supply chain.
As a member of Ethical Trade Norway, Ruter commits to the principles declaration of Ethical Trade Norway.
We expect our suppliers and partners to adopt the same approach, and to commit to following Ruter's code of conduct for suppliers.
