Public transport services in the summer

Summer brings more frequent ferries to the Oslofjord and wonderful swimming spots. Here is an overview of popular places to swim.

The island ferries sail more frequently in the summer

The ferries in the Oslofjord sail throughout the summer until August 31. New this year is line B1x which sails between Aker Brygge and Hovedøya every 20 minutes during daytime.

You can also take a boat to Lindøya, Gressholmen, Bleikøya, Nakkholmen, and Langøyene. All the island ferries are electric and have a capacity for 350 passengers.

Metro closures due to upgrades

The great metro upgrade does not take a holiday, and diligent work is being done on the metro network this summer. Trains pass by Majorstuen station, but you can board and disembark at Nationaltheatret station as normal. There are still replacement buses on some sections.
