The metro runs through the city centre again: Majorstuen closed for boarding and alighting

The metro now operates through Oslo city centre again. Some sections still have a replacement bus for the metro.
Passengers on the T-bane

We know this summer has been challenging for those travelling by public transport, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Nationaltheatret station is now open to passengers again, and trains can pass through Majorstuen station. Most lines are now operating almost as normal.

Majorstuen: partially closed

There will still be some work taking place at Majorstuen station. From 11 August to 19 September, trains will pass through Majorstuen station without stopping, and you will not be able to board or alight here.

Passengers can take tram lines 12, 15, and 19 between Majorstuen and the City Centre.

Metro services during this period:

  • Line 1: Runs as normal, does not stop at Majorstuen
  • Line 2: Runs between Østerås and Borgen, and between Stortinget and Ellingsrudåsen
  • Line 3: Runs between Kolsås and Borgen, and between Stortinget and Mortensrud
  • Line 4: Runs as normal, does not stop at Majorstuen
  • Line 5: Runs as normal, does not stop at Majorstuen

Replacement bus for metro

  • Line 2 and 3: A replacement bus still operates between Borgen and Majorstuen.

Special transport

During the replacement bus period, some departures will use standard minibuses, which unfortunately do not have wheelchair ramps. This is due to bus availability and needs on the line. Passengers using wheelchairs who require special transport must call 952 58 000 at least three hours before the planned journey, as we need time to ensure a vehicle with a ramp is available.
