Starting November 1, monthly pass will be cheaper

The 30-day ticket, also known as a monthly pass, will become cheaper from November 1. Adults in Zone 1 will pay NOK 495, while children and young people can travel throughout Oslo and Akershus for NOK 199.

The price reduction is funded by the City of Oslo and Akershus County Municipality through a temporary government grant scheme. The reduction applies only to the 30-day ticket. Other tickets remain at their previous prices.

Here are the new monthly pass prices

  • Adults in zone 1 will receive a discount of 160 kroner. The monthly pass will cost 495 kroner.
  • One zone in Akershus will also see a reduction of 160 kroner. The monthly pass will cost 759 kroner.
  • Monthly passes for two and three zones will be reduced by NOK 320 and NOK 480, respectively.
  • Students receive a discount of 100 kroner for one zone, 200 kroner for two, and 300 kroner for three.
  • Children and young people will receive a discount of 39 kroner. The monthly pass will cost 199 kroner.
  • Seniors receive a discount of NOK 47, NOK 94 and NOK 140 for one, two and three zones, respectively

Do you have an annual pass?

The 365-day ticket, also known as an annual pass, costs the same as before because the government subsidy only applies to the 30-day ticket. For adults, it costs NOK 7,550 for Zone 1, NOK 17,560 for two zones, and NOK 24,980 for all zones.

At the new prices, an annual pass costs about the same as 15 monthly passes. So as long as these prices remain in effect, it makes more sense to buy monthly passes.

If you want to avoid buying a new ticket every month, you can enable automatic renewal of your 30-day ticket in the Ruter app. You can cancel at any time.

If you have purchased an annual pass and would like a refund, please contact customer service. Read more about ticket refunds.
