The Ruter app: Older versions will stop working this summer. Are you one of those who need to update?

How do I know if I need to update?
Most people who have downloaded the Ruter app on their phone don’t need to do anything. The Ruter app updates itself automatically at regular intervals on newer phones.
Those who need to update the app can check this by opening the Ruter app, from May 28th. If it applies to you, you will receive a clear message about it when you are inside the app.
Why do I have to update?
We update the app regularly to make it more stable, secure, and better for you. For everyone to benefit from the improvements, and for us to be able to help you if something goes wrong, it’s important that everyone uses a relatively recent version.
I’m one of those who need to update, what do I have to do?
- Go to the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android)
- Search for “Ruter”. A red network symbol on a white background.
- Then click the “Update” button.
- The update only takes a few seconds, and you won’t lose your tickets.
I have an older phone. Will the updated app work on my phone?
Most phones support the new app. The app works on:
- iPhone 8 and later (iOS 16 or later)
- Android phones with Android 8.0 or later
If you have an older phone, such as an iPhone 7 or earlier, or an Android phone from before 2016, your phone may not support the version of iOS or Android that the app requires. In that case, unfortunately, you will not be able to continue using the Ruter app. You can buy a paper ticket at a one of our sales outlets.
Will I lose the tickets I’ve bought when I update?
No. Updating the app will not affect your tickets. If you are logged in, you will find them again after the update. If you are not logged in, we recommend that you keep your ticket number. This is shown on the screen when you buy a ticket.
