Island hopping from downtown Oslo
While some people pack their bags and head for the mountains, the islands in the Oslo Fjord have become a popular alternative during the Easter holidays.
With the boat route B1 from Aker Brygge it’s easy to get out to Hovedøya, Lindøya, Gressholmen, Bleikøya and Nakkholmen – right from downtown Oslo.
It’s also possible to take B21 to Drøbak and Son on weekends.
More people want to take boats early in the year
The travel figures from 2025 show strong growth in boat traffic already early in the season. In April, we recorded around 86,000 journeys, an increase from about 52,000 journeys in April 2024. In total, more than 1.3 million boat trips were made during 2025, which is a record for the boat routes.
Something for the whole family
Easter is a fantastic time to visit the islands, and you’re just a short boat ride away from the city. We look forward to welcoming all the Easter tourists on board.
The islands offer experiences for both young and old:
- Hovedøya – historic monastery ruins, forest and hiking trails
- Drøbak and Son– The sailing to Drøbak is a fantastic experience, with Oscarsborg Fortress in the background.
- Gressholmen and Bleikøya– nature reserves for peace and nature experiences
- Lindøya and Nakkholmen– charming cabin islands with beautiful nature
