Terms of agrement for RuterProfile

Background, personal information, and conditions when you create a RuterProfile.

General

  • This agreement is between Ruter AS and you, the user of Ruter’s digital services via the Ruter app or Ruter.no. By creating a profile, you accept the terms of this agreement.
  • The purpose of this agreement is to create a profile so you can enjoy a more personalised experience across our digital platforms and with Customer Services. If you contact us about your profile, we will also retain your enquiry.
  • By creating a profile, we can associate profile-related activities with you, giving you access to your profile details and associated history across our digital platforms. For example, your settings and ticket purchase history will be retained if you change handset.
  • Creating a profile enables access to features and services that require one. Where applicable, you will be informed of what is required to use such functionality.

Profile creation

  • You must be at least 15 years old to create a profile. An exception applies if you have access to a complimentary ticket and a guardian has consented to you having a profile.
  • You must provide your name, a valid telephone number, and an email address during registration. The information must relate to you and be accurate and up to date.

Use of profil

  • Your profile is personal and may not be shared with others.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and password.
  • Your use of the profile must comply with this agreement and applicable laws and regulations.
  • You must not manipulate your profile to obtain benefits to which you are not entitled.
  • If you use the profile in breach of this agreement, or otherwise misuse the services available through the profile, you are liable for any financial losses incurred by Ruter as a result.

Processing of personal data

  • We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Notice, which forms an integral part of this agreement.
  • By creating a profile, you consent to our collection and use of personal data as described in the privacy policy.

Termination of profil

  • You may terminate this agreement at any time by deleting your profile. Follow the instructions for deleting a profile on our digital platforms.
  • We will retain your profile information for 14 days after deletion. This is to ensure there are no outstanding matters or claims preventing deletion of your personal data, and to give you the opportunity to reverse an accidental deletion.
  • If you hold a valid ticket, you may request a partial refund before deleting your profile, in accordance with Ruter’s travel terms for ticket refunds. You may also contact the customer centre to have the ticket moved to an unregistered app.
  • If there are any claims or dependencies linked to your profile—such as an open case with customer services or outstanding payment—you will not be able to terminate the profile.
  • This agreement will terminate, and your profile will be deleted if you have been inactive on our digital platforms for 13 months.
  • If you delete your profile, any other agreements you have entered and consents you have given that are linked to your profile will also be withdrawn.

Changes to the agreement

  • Ruter reserves the right to change this agreement at any time.
  • Material changes will be communicated to you. Your continued use of the profile after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the amended terms.

  • The app and the profile service are provided “as is”.
  • We are not liable for consequential damages arising from your use of the profile.
  • This agreement is otherwise governed by Norwegian law.
