How to buy a ticket
- Purchase a single ticket in the Ruter app on your mobile.
- Purchase a physical travel card.
- On board the bus and boat. It's a bit more expensive.
This is how the ticket works
- A single ticket for one zone is valid for 60 minutes from the time you activate it. The validity increases by 30 minutes for each additional zone you purchase a ticket for.
- The period ticket is valid from the time you activate it until the end of the ticket's duration.
- You can switch to other means of transportation (transfer) within the zones the ticket is valid for, as long as there is time remaining on it when you board the transportation.
- The ticket can be used on all of Ruter's buses, trams, subways, and boats, as well as on Vy's trains in Oslo and Akershus.
- All our tickets are non-personal, so you can travel anonymously without providing personal data to Ruter. You can purchase a physical travel card.
- You can have the ticket in Ruter-appen on your mobile or on a travel card.
- The 24-hour ticket can be cost-effective if you travel more than three times within a day. The 30-day ticket is worth it if you travel 30 times or more over the course of the month.
- The annual pass allows you to travel for 12 months, but you only pay for 10 months.
