You can buy a ticket in the Ruter app, from our online store, or at a physical point of sale. Download the Ruter app or buy a physical ticket at a point of sale. You can buy a ticket on board, but only when traveling by boat or bus.

Digital ticket in the Ruter app

In the Ruter app, you can plan your journey and buy a ticket all in one place.

You can also buy valid tickets in the Brakar, Entur, and Vy apps to travel with us on public transport.

Physical travel card

You can buy a new travel card with a ticket or travel credit at Narvesen, 7-Eleven, and Mix kiosks, or at our customer service center at Jernbanetorget. See the address.

A new travel card costs 50 kroner. Keep your travel card; it can be reused.

If you already have a travel card, you can buy new tickets at a sales outlet or in the online store.

Online store

In our online store, you can buy a ticket for your travel card from home. You can also buy a ticket for someone else's travel card.

On board buses and boats

If you don't have time to buy a ticket before you travel, you can buy a single ticket on board the bus or boat. Please note that it is more expensive than buying it in advance. You must pay in cash, and we do not accept banknotes larger than 200 kroner.

Unfortunately, you cannot buy a ticket on board a tram or metro.
