Temporary change

From August 27th, the number of tram departures will be reduced for a period. This means that the tram will run four times an hour, instead of six. It may take up to two weeks before there are enough trams available to operate as normal.

The reason for this change is due to work on replacing the sand on the tracks. When the trams are in for sand replacement, there are fewer trams available, which unfortunately affects the service.

The tram uses sand in situations where there is a need for better traction between the wheel and rail, for example during acceleration and braking on slippery tracks.

Work on switching to the correct type of sand is well underway, and efforts are being made to get all the trams back in normal operation as quickly as possible.
