Many people enters the tram in Oslo

Temporary change
On August 27, the number of departures on all tram lines was reduced from six to four departures per hour.

The reason for the change is due to work to change sand on the rails. When the trams are in and changing sand, there are fewer trams available, which unfortunately goes beyond the offer.

The tram uses sand in situations where there is a need for better grip between the wheels and the rail, for example when accelerating and braking on slippery roads.

The work of changing to the right type of sand has proven to be a demanding and complex job, which has meant that the work has taken longer than initially expected.

Gradually more departures

The trams will continue to run with a 15-minute frequency until week 38, that is, until and including September 21. From Monday, September 22 (week 39), more trams will gradually be put back into traffic. This gives several hundred more departures per weekday from the same date.
