Travel as a senior

Senior discount
The senior discount applies to single tickets and season tickets.
You are entitled to a concession discount if you:
- has turned 67 years old
- has an honorary certificate
- gets disability benefits approved by NAV
- is blind or visually impaired
You must be able to document your right to a discount if you are asked to do so during a ticket inspection. You select “concession” as the passenger category when you buy the ticket in order to receive the discount.
Companion card
One companion travels free of charge for disabled persons with documented needs.
Companions who travel for free cannot combine a companion certificate with the group discount. To use the group discount, the traveler must have a valid adult, senior, student, or military ticket, and be over 18 years old.
You must be able to present your companion certificate during a ticket inspection. You obtain a companion certificate from the municipality or city district, and it is the person with a disability who receives the certificate. We also accept equivalent documentation from another country, provided it clearly states who issued the documentation and what it applies to.
Age-friendly transport
If you are 67 years or older and live in selected districts in Oslo, you can book a minibus that picks you up at home and takes you where you need to go.
All you need is a regular Ruter ticket. The ticket must be purchased in advance in the Ruter app or on a travel card, as it is not possible to buy a ticket on board the minibus.
