Remember this when the clocks are set forward

Your ticket doesn’t lose any time, but its expiry time moves back one hour.

A happy couple is traveling with the night bus

Daylight saving time: Your ticket lasts as long as usual

Twice a year we change the clocks: one hour forward in spring and one hour back in autumn. Most people think about the sleep they lose or gain, but the clock change also affects when your ticket expires.

Your ticket lasts as long as usual. A 30-day ticket still lasts 720 hours, and a single ticket for one zone still lasts 60 minutes.

What changes is the time your ticket expires. If you activate a single ticket for one zone at 02:30 on Sunday night, it expires at 02:30. You still get 60 minutes on your ticket, but the clocks have gone back one hour in the meantime.

The Ruter app updates the expiry time automatically, so check your ticket in the app if you are unsure.

For those who are going to take the night bus, on the night of October 25th

On the night of Sunday, October 25th at 03:00 AM, the clock is set back one hour (to 02:00 AM). The night buses and boats in Akershus, and between Oslo and Akershus, will operate on daylight saving time, throughout the service day. That means between 02:00 AM and 04:00 AM.

This means that buses and trams will run one hour earlier than what an automatically adjusted clock would show. Consequently, the last night service will not be visible in the journey planner.
Traffic will resume as normal for winter time from 04:00 and 05:00 Sunday morning.

If you are planning to travel by night bus or boat in Akershus this weekend, we advise you to plan your trip in advance, so that you do not miss a departure.
