Self-driving is a pilot project where Ruter is testing self-driving vehicles in Groruddalen and Søndre Lørenskog. The service is under development and will open to passengers after the summer.

We invite you to register your interest in taking part in testing our next solution for self-driving vehicles. The testing is part of a research and development project aimed at gaining better insight into users’ needs, experiences, and expectations. We will start inviting participants for testing after the summer.

Planning a trip to the Stovner Tower? Or maybe you’re going to visit friends in Ellingsrud? With self-driving transport, you can easily get to popular places in the area.

Access the Self-Driving app

  • Register your interest here
  • Wait until you get access; we grant access to new users in several rounds.
  • Download the Selvkjørende app from the App Store or Google Play
  • Register your user account and search for available trips

Show up at the pickup location

  • Select pickup location and delivery location in the app
  • View estimated arrival time
  • Book your trip with one click

Travel while you can

  • Board the vehicle
  • Check the arrival time along the way in the app
  • The car may pick up other passengers who have booked a trip in the same direction
