How to get to events this autumn

Oslo Marathon

September 12

The Oslo Marathon is Norway's largest marathon and is held every autumn. As runners take to the streets of Oslo, several bus and tram routes will be diverted or changed on Saturday. If you are traveling through the city center, you are encouraged to use the metro.

The marathon route will affect many transit lines on Saturday, September 12, between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Check the journey planner for your specific trip.

Trick

• Line 12: On Friday, September 11, from 6:00 PM, the line will run via Nationaltheatret instead of Rådhusplassen. On Saturday, the line will operate only between Jernbanetorget and Kjelsås. If you are traveling from the Majorstuen side, you will need to find an alternative route to Jernbanetorget. At Jernbanetorget, the line departs from platform F. From 8:00 PM, it will once again run via Nationaltheatret.
• Line 13: Runs only between Jernbanetorget and Ljabru on Saturday. Stops between Thune and Jernbanetorget are not in service. At Jernbanetorget, you can find the line at platform B.
• Line 15: Not running between Majorstuen and Jernbanetorget on Saturday.
• Line 17: Operates in two separate sections on Saturday: Gaustadalleen–Holbergs plass and Jernbanetorget–Sinsen/Grefsen station. You cannot travel directly between Holbergs plass and Jernbanetorget. At Jernbanetorget, the line departs from platform C.
• Line 18: Operates in two separate sections on Saturday: Gaustadalleen–Holbergs plass and Jernbanetorget–Storo/Grefsen station. You cannot travel directly between Holbergs plass and Jernbanetorget. At Jernbanetorget, the line departs from platform C.
• Line 19: Runs only between Ljabru and Jernbanetorget on Saturday. Does not run between Jernbanetorget and Majorstuen.

Bus

• Line 13B: Terminates at Skøyen. The Thune stop is not in use.
• Line 20: Not running between Skøyen and Majorstua on Saturday. Does not stop at Skøyen, Thune, Olav Kyrres plass, Odins gate, Frogner plass, Vigelandsparken, or Frogner stadion.
• Route 21: Does not operate between Alexander Kiellands plass and Tjuvholmen on Saturday. Does not stop at Tjuvholmen, Observatoriegata, Lapsetorvet, Riddervolds plass, Uranienborgveien, Homansbyen, Bislett, Sofies plass, St. Hanshaugen, or Falck Ytters plass.
• Route 30: Operating on a different route via the Opera Tunnel and Frognerstranda. There is a temporary stop at Frognerkilen. Does not stop at Karenslyst allé (towards the city centre), Olav Kyrres plass, Frogner kirke, Solli, Nationaltheatret, Wessels plass or Kvadraturen.
• Line 31: Runs via the Opera Tunnel. Does not stop at Skøyen (towards the city centre), Thune, Olav Kyrres plass, Frogner kirke, Solli, Nationaltheatret, Wessels plass, or Kvadraturen.
• Route 37: Taking a different route between St. Hanshaugen and Jernbanetorget. Does not stop at Stensberggata, Nordahl Bruns gate, Holbergs plass, Nationaltheatret, Wessels plass, Kvadraturen, or Historisk museum.
• Route 42: Only runs to Skøyen station on Saturdays. Does not stop at Sjølyst (towards Tjuvholmen) or Tjuvholmen.
• Route 45: Between 09:00 and 15:00, the route will be diverted between Smestad and Majorstua. It will not stop at Heggeli, Borgen, or Volvat.
• Route 70: Runs only as far as Jernbanetorget on Saturday. Does not stop at Nationaltheatret, Wessels plass, or Kvadraturen.
• Route 81: Runs directly between Jernbanetorget and Filipstadveien via the Opera Tunnel. Does not stop at Nationaltheatret, Wessels plass, Kvadraturen, or Vika atrium.
• Night bus 11N: Some early Saturday morning services will not run between Majorstua and Jernbanetorget. This applies to departures from Majorstua at 04:55, 05:25 and 05:55, and departures from Kjelsås at 04:18, 04:48 and 05:18.
• Night bus 12N: Some early Saturday morning services will not run between Majorstua and Jernbanetorget. This applies to departures from Majorstua at 05:06, 05:36 and 06:06, and departures from Kjelsås at 04:03, 04:33 and 05:03.
• Line 150: Does not stop at Holbergs plass on Saturday, nor at Nationaltheatret platform G in Frederiks gate.
• Line 160: Does not stop at Holbergs plass on Saturday, nor at Nationaltheatret platform G on Frederiks gate.
• Line 250: Operating as normal.
