Remember this when the clocks are set forward on Saturday night

The clock change can affect the validity period of your ticket, and departures in Akershus on the night to Sunday will operate on daylight saving time between 2 AM and 4 AM.

Daylight saving time affects the duration of the ticket

Twice a year we adjust the clock – one hour forward in the spring and one hour back in the fall. While most people think about lost or gained sleep, there is something many Ruter passengers are not aware of: the time change can affect how long your ticket is valid.

In the Ruter app, the duration of the ticket is calculated based on the time on your phone. This means that the ticket automatically adjusts when the time changes – but it's still good to be aware of this when planning your journey around the clock change.

For those who are going to take the night bus, on the night of October 26th

On the night of Sunday, October 26th at 03:00 AM, the clock is set back one hour (to 02:00 AM). The night buses and boats in Akershus, and between Oslo and Akershus, will operate on daylight saving time, throughout the service day. That means between 02:00 AM and 04:00 AM.

This means that buses and trams will run one hour earlier than what an automatically adjusted clock would show. Consequently, the last night service will not be visible in the journey planner.
Traffic will resume as normal for winter time from 04:00 and 05:00 Sunday morning.

If you are planning to travel by night bus or boat in Akershus this weekend, we advise you to plan your trip in advance, so that you do not miss a departure.
