Regional bus out and about on the highway

Some routes will get an improved service, while others are reduced due to low passenger numbers. All changes take effect from Tuesday, April 7. Ruter’s journey planner has been updated with the correct timetables.

Overview of changes on the various bus routes

Line 225 is being discontinued

Ruter is ending the market test with route 225 Bekkestua–Høvik.
The route was established on 2 June 2025 as part of the initiative to strengthen public transport services in connection with the closure of Ring 1.

The aim was to strengthen efficiency and accessibility, improve the possibilities for travelling by public transport across the municipality, and increase the share of public transport for commuting to and from DNV (the Veritas Centre) at Høvik.

However, passenger numbers have been very low – both during and outside rush hour – compared with similar lines in the west and with the costs of operating the line.

Lines 150 and 160 run every 15 minutes for an extra hour in the evening

Line 150 Gullhaug - Nationaltheatret and line 160 Rykkinn–Nationaltheatret run every 15 minutes for one extra hour in the evening.

For line 150 this means that the last departure running every 15 minutes leaves Oslo at 21:23.

For line 160, this means that the last departure running every 15 minutes leaves Oslo at 21:37.

Line 270 will have fewer departures during rush hour

Line 270 Asker–Sandvika–Fornebu is reducing the number of departures during rush hour on the Sandvika–Fornebu section. Departures are being reduced from four to two per hour.

The reason for the change is that Ruter carried out a market test with an expanded service from 31 March 2025, in connection with a special subsidy related to the temporary closure of Ring 1. The test showed that there are not enough passengers during rush hour to maintain four departures per hour.

The market test has also shown that there are more passengers in the evenings on weekdays and Saturdays. Therefore, Ruter is maintaining this part of the service.

Lines 210A and 210B will get a new start and end stop in Lommedalen

A new turning area at Lommedalen School makes it possible to extend route 210B, so that departures which currently start and end at the Slalåmveien stop will from now on start and end at Lommedalen School.

The change also applies to additional departures for line 210A on school days.

Runtime changes on several lines

There will be changes to the running times on some bus routes. For example, this may mean that a departure leaves 2 minutes earlier than it used to.

This applies to these lines in Asker and Bærum:

250, 250E, 250N, 251, 255E, 256, 261, 280.

If you’re travelling on one of these routes, we recommend checking the journey planner in advance.
