Holmenkollstafetten and the men's cup final on May 9: How to get there

Saturday 9 May will be a lively day in Oslo: Holmenkollstafetten (relay) will fill the streets, and in the evening the men’s cup final between Brann and Bodø/Glimt will be played at Ullevaal Stadium. The festivities mean a number of temporary changes for trams and buses on this day.

Are you going to

On line 1 there will be extra departures between the city centre and Holmenkollen during the busiest periods – with two extra departures every 15 minutes at peak times. Please note that line 1 Frognerseteren has closed doors on the last car due to short platforms.

“There will be lots of activity and many travelers in the city. Everyone is encouraged to be patient and allow plenty of time, so this will be a pleasant experience in the sunshine for everyone.”
- Øystein Dahl Johansen, Press officer at Ruter

Are you going to the cup final?

The cup final kicks off at 6:00 p.m. at Ullevaal Stadium. The metro will run as normal up until the match.

However, we do have an insider tip for your route:

– For getting to the match, a smart tip is to travel “against the flow” and take Line 5 Ringen via Tøyen from the city centre. It only takes a couple of extra minutes, and there will be much more space for everyone going to watch the match at Ullevaal, says Johansen.

After the match, there will be extra departures on the metro. There will also be additional security guards present in the city centre before the match and on the platforms at Ullevål Stadium after the match.
