Refund and travel guarantee
These terms apply to refunds
You are entitled to a refund of up to 750 kroner if you are more than 20 minutes late due to delays, cancellations, or other irregularities and faults in our service, and you have
- allowed enough transition time (at least 5 minutes)
- calculated enough walking time
- used the correct timetable
The guarantee applies if the discrepancy is not covered by the exceptions described below. The travel guarantee also applies if you were unable to board the means of transport with a wheelchair or other aid, and you were not offered a taxi at Ruter's expense on the spot.
If you know that you can get there with another route option, you must use this – possibly in addition to a taxi, car, or other means of transport.

Apply for a refund
If these conditions are met, you can apply for a refund. You must do this in writing through our contact form.
It is important to us that you get to where you need to be, when you need to be there. Therefore, you can take a taxi, car (mileage allowance) or alternative transportation if the conditions are met.
How to apply
- Follow the link below and fill out the form. The claim must be submitted within three months after you took the taxi, car, or alternative transport.
- Remember that the taxi refund only applies to taxis with a license number.
- If the refund is approved, you will normally receive the money in your account within 14 days.
