If you already have a season ticket, you can purchase a ticket for additional zones if you are traveling further than the season ticket is valid for.

Tickets for additional zones are not sold with student or youth discount.

How to buy a ticket for additional zones
- In the Ruter app, if you have a valid period ticket (24-hour, 7-, 30-, or 365-day ticket) in the same app.
- With cash or travel money with the driver on board the bus and boat, upon presentation of a valid period ticket.
- At our customer center Ruter S at Jernbanetorget if you have a valid period ticket on a physical travel card.
You cannot purchase tickets for additional zones on board the subway, tram, Vy's trains, or Entur's ticket machines.
This is how the ticket works
- You can purchase a ticket for additional zones if you are traveling further than your valid period ticket covers.
- Tickets for additional zones are automatically activated when you purchase them on board. When buying through the Ruter app, you can decide when to activate the ticket yourself.
- You can switch to other means of transportation (transfer) within the zones the ticket is valid for, as long as there is time left on it when you board the transportation.
- The ticket can be used on Ruter's buses, trams, subways, and boats, as well as on Vy's trains in Oslo and Akershus.
- You cannot use the ticket together with the Rufus ticket or other special tickets.
