Replacement bus for metro to Sognsvann this summer

Buses replace the metro to Sognsvann this summer
From 6 July to 16 August, the metro will not run between Majorstuen and Sognsvann, or between Majorstuen and Nydalen. The reason is upgrade work on the Sognsvann line.
This means that nine stations will have no metro service during this period: Sognsvann, Kringsjå, Holstein, Østhorn, Tåsen, Berg, Ullevål stadion, Forskningsparken and Blindern.
If you are travelling to or from one of these stations, you must use a bus instead. Two replacement buses are running: 5B between Majorstuen and Sognsvann, and 4B between Majorstuen and Nydalen. The buses stop at the usual stations along the route.
How the metro runs:
During the upgrade work, line 4 and 5 will run differently:
- Line 4 runs in two separate sections: Bergkrystallen–Stortinget and Vestli–Sinsen.
- Line 5 runs Vestli–Tøyen–Stortinget and Nydalen–Tøyen–Stortinget.
How the replacement buses run:
- 5B runs between Majorstuen and Sognsvann, stopping at the usual metro stations along the route.
- 4B runs between Majorstuen and Nydalen, also stopping at the usual stations.

Our travel advice:
- Check the journey planner in the Ruter app or at ruter.no before you travel, especially if you are going to or from one of the nine affected metro stations.
- Allow some extra travel time during the period when the work is in progress.
- Be prepared that the journey may require more transfers than usual on the affected section.
You can read more about the upgrade on Sporveien’s project page.
