Contract terms for the Ruter profile
This agreement is entered into between Ruter As and you as a user of Ruter’s digital services, either via the Ruter app or Ruter.no. By creating a profile, you accept the terms of this agreement.
General
The purpose of this agreement is to create a profile with Ruter so that you can access a more personalized user experience on our digital platforms and with customer service. If you contact us about anything related to your profile, we will also store your inquiry.
When you have a profile, we can link actions related to the profile to you. This gives you access to profile information and related history across our digital channels. For example, you can keep your settings and ticket purchase history if you change your mobile phone.
By creating a profile, you will be able to use features and services that require you to have a profile. In that case, you will be informed about what is necessary in order to use the functionality.
Create profile
- To create a profile, you must be at least 15 years old. Exceptions apply if you have access to a free ticket and your guardian has consented to you having a profile.
- You must provide your name, a valid phone number, and email address during the registration process. The information must be linked to you, and be correct and up to date.
Use of the profile
- The profile is personal and cannot be shared with others.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and password.
- Your use of the profile must comply with this Agreement and with applicable laws and regulations.
- You may not manipulate your profile in an attempt to gain benefits you are not entitled to.
- If you use the profile in violation of this agreement, or otherwise misuse the services offered on the profile, you are liable for any financial losses incurred by Ruter as a result.
Processing of personal data
- We collect and process personal data in accordance with our privacy policy, which forms an integral part of this agreement.
- By creating a profile, you agree to our collection and use of personal data as described in the privacy policy.
Profile closure
- You can terminate this agreement at any time by deleting your profile. You do this by following the instructions for deleting a profile on our digital platforms.
- We retain your profile information for 14 days after you have deleted your profile. This is to ensure that there are no outstanding matters or claims that prevent us from deleting your personal data, and to give you the opportunity to change your mind if you deleted your profile by mistake.
- If you have a valid ticket, you can request a partial refund of the ticket before you delete your profile, in accordance with Ruter’s travel terms for ticket refunds. You can also contact customer service and ask to have the ticket moved to an unregistered app.
- If there are any requirements or dependencies linked to your profile, it will not be possible to close the profile. This applies, for example, if you have an open case with customer service or outstanding payment claims.
- The agreement will be terminated and your profile deleted if you have been inactive on our digital platforms for 13 months.
- If you delete your profile, other agreements you have entered into and consents you have given that are linked to your profile will also be withdrawn.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your profile if you breach this agreement.
Changes to the agreement
- Ruter reserves the right to change this agreement at any time.
- Significant changes will be communicated to you. Your continued use of the profile after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the amended terms.
Limitation of liability
- The app and profile service are provided "as is."
- We are not liable for any consequential damages arising from your use of the profile.
- The agreement is otherwise governed by Norwegian law.
Contact and dispute resolution
- If you have questions about this agreement, or wish to file a complaint, you can contact customer service. You can also contact the Transport Complaints Board.
- In the event of a complaint concerning a consumer matter, you can also contact the Norwegian Consumer Authority. For more information on how to submit a complaint, visit the website of the Norwegian Consumer Authority.
By creating a profile, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the terms of this agreement.
