# Is the Ruter app not working?

> Having trouble with the Ruter app? Check if it’s a known issue, or try these steps to get the app working again.

## Check if it is a known issue

Real-time traffic, ticket purchases and logins may be affected if we experience problems with any of our systems.

On the traffic updates page, you can see the current status.

## Try this if the app isn’t working

These steps solve most common problems:

**Close and reopen the app**Swipe the app away and start it again. This often helps if the app is stuck or frozen.

**Check your internet connection**The app needs internet access to fetch real-time data and tickets. Try switching between mobile data and Wi‑Fi, or turning airplane mode off and on again.

**Update to the latest version**Go to the App Store or Google Play and check if there’s an update available. We regularly release bug fixes and improvements.

**Restart the phone**A simple restart helps if the update isn’t enough.

**Uninstall and reinstall the app**Delete the app and download it again. You won’t lose any tickets; they’re stored in your account.

## Are you still having problems?

If the app isn’t working right now, you can buy a ticket on board if you’re traveling by boat or bus. You can also buy a new travel card with a ticket or travel credit at the Narvesen, 7-Eleven and Mix kiosks, or at our customer service center at Jernbanetorget.[See the address there](https://ruter.no/en/help/contact-us).

You can also find the journey planner at [https://reise.ruter.no](https://reise.ruter.no).
